Education
M.F.A., Dance Choreography and Performance
Minor in Somatic Studies
University of North Carolina,  Greensboro, NC

B.A. Dance Performance
University of Oregon,  Eugene, OR
My academic studies include course work in anatomy, physiology and
kinesiology, as well as technical training in a variety of dance forms
including ballet, modern, jazz, improvisation and dance composition.  In
addition, I have experiential knowledge of  myriad somatic movement
practices such as those inspired by F. Matthias Alexander, Moshe
Feldenkraus, Irmgard Bartenieff, Bonnie Bainbridge Cohen, and Joseph
Pilates.

These reflective practices have served to inform my holistic approach to
movement and my comprehensive understanding of the body as an integral,
complex vessel of physical, emotional, and spiritual well being.  I believe
that establishing a sound technical and creative movement practice is
essential not only for the dancer's freedom of expression and artistic
development, but for every individual's health, happiness and longevity.

In addition to a formal academic education I have attended many workshops
in the fitness industry and have earned numerous certifications in exercise,
yoga, and pilates.
